Larry Fitzgerald, retired wide receiver for the Arizona Cardinals and founder of The Larry Fitzgerald Foundation, recently brought back his biggest fundraising night of the year, Fitz’s Supper Club, to Dominick’s Steakhouse in the Scottsdale Quarter. The fundraiser included a VIP reception, red carpet and an amazing dinner.
The Red Carpet
Supporters of the event walking the red carpet included Cardinal’s general manager, Steve Keim, former Arizona Diamondback’s pitcher, J.J. Putz, restauranteur, Jeff Mastro, Prime Steak Concepts Chief Brand Officer, Oliver Badgio and so many more. An adorable little boy even snuck through the media line and was treated like a VIP! He was given autographs and had the opportunity to take some selfies with the celebrities on the red carpet.
We also had the honor to meet Larry Fitzgerald himself. As one would suspect, he was indeed incredibly kind and humble.
Fitz’s Supper Club
Fitz’s Supper Club is one of the premier social, philanthropic and entertainment events of the year in Arizona. Attendees of Fitz’s Supper Club enjoyed an array of Fitzgerald’s favorite foods prepared by Chef Marc Lupino and specialty cocktails. Guests also had the opportunity to bid on one-of-a-kind items in the highly-anticipated live and silent auction.
“I am very grateful for my partners at Dominick’s Steakhouse who have graciously hosted this event with me for the last nine years, and for our sponsors and supporters who are helping our foundation give back to our communities in support of youth education and the fight against breast cancer,” said Larry Fitzgerald. “I couldn’t be more proud of the work that we do, and the impact that we have through The Larry Fitzgerald Foundation, which is all made possible through the generous donations of many individuals and corporations who share in our mission.”
Larry’s Favorite Local Eats
We had the opportunity to ask Larry about some of his favorite local eats. Turns out Larry loves many of the valley restaurants and trying new cuisines!
“If I am going to have seafood I go to Ocean 44. If I want a steak I am going to Dominicks or Steak 44 – those are my spots! If I want something quieter….it’s Tarbell’s I love. If I want soul food I am going to Lolos. For Sushi, I am a Sakana guy – I like Sakana, they did a really great roll for me at the Indian Bend location. If I’ve got my boys…They are like carnivores. They don’t eat any vegetables. I try to get them to eat vegetables and they won’t, so we go to Fogo de Chao. They just eat as much meat as they can.”
The Larry Fitzgerald Foundation Mission
We also had the chance to catch up with the foundation’s Executive Director, Danielle Frost. She is incredibly passionate about the foundation’s mission. The Larry Fitzgerald Foundation has been supporting kids and their families with significant donations of time, money and special resources through numerous organizations across the country and beyond for nearly two decades. The Foundation’s mission is to support youth education and breast cancer awareness by providing educational resources for students, and support for those impacted by breast cancer.
