On September 27 – 30, 2018, Curvy Chic Closet, the largest plus size consignment event in North America, is holding their four-day, semi-annual Consignment Sales Event and Fashion Show in Beaverton, Oregon.
Curvy Chic Closet’s founder, Becky Jarvis, states “I started Curvy Chic Closet after realizing that there were no plus size consignment events to help women buy beautiful gently used plus size clothing. 65% of American women wear a size 14 and above, yet we are left behind in the fashion industry at traditional brick and mortar stores. I am able to offer amazing shopping under one roof with over 20,000 consigned items (clothing, shoes, jewelry, purses, and accessories) for the plus size consumer. Each year, our fashion show continues to grow. We are proud of the women that were casted for the fall 2018 event and they’re empowering beautiful curvy women to be role models!”
Attendees can indulge in a new wardrobe by trading their own gently-used clothing for a massive selection of outfits and accessories from fellow guests and more than 22 participating vendors. Attendees who wish to consign their gently-used, size 14/XL-34 clothes should register here to receive a consigner number and register for a drop-off appointment.
The largest plus size fashion show on the West Coast will be held on Saturday, September 29 at 7 p.m. Featured designers include as Anna Teiko Designs, BelAir Bettie’s, Boots by Pamela, Charity Rosalind, Chocolate Diamond, Curves with Purpose, Curvy Diva Parties, E’mit Couture, Heavenly Bridal Boutique, Lady J, and Maurices.
This exciting fashion show will also feature Kimberly Walker, an inspirational speaker, national beauty queen, motivator and the non-profit founder and CEO of Curves Beautifully Empowered from Seattle, Washington. Her passion is to inspire and motivate women and girls to embrace their curves; to see, to accept and soar into their personal awesomeness. Kimberly defines empowerment as the promotion of self-actualization of one’s inner beauty and power. Kimberly believes we all deserve to live and be our best and believes we have the right to be perfectly imperfect and look fabulous doing it.
Curvy Chic Closet is joining forces with Free Food Ministries, a nonprofit organization that supports the local community. Attendees can bring toiletry items in exchange for FREE Presale Admission ($5 value). Toiletry Items are accepted any time during the four-day event.
Another worthy charity to benefit from Curvy Chic Closet’s generosity is Gung Ho Ministries, a women’s resale shop that generates income to help serve homeless veterans, the needy, and the underprivileged. In the past seven years, Curvy Chic Closet’s consigners have donated approximately 25,000 pounds of goods to Gung Ho Ministries, helping countless women to dress for success and improve their lives and circumstances.
On the night of the fashion show, Curvy Chic Closet will host a raffle that benefits Make-A-Wish. Raffle tickets are $1 each.
