The Sugar Factory in Bellevue will play host to celebrate Margaret Spencer’s 50th birthday, on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 and you are all invited!
Margaret Spencer, mother of two and founder of DRES and creator of the DRES System, provides a positive way to identify your shape that women embrace using Diamond, Ruby, Emerald and Sapphire body shapes. DRES offers DRES Polish, a DIY image styling course on their website and personal image styling through their DRES Stylists. The DRES brand promotes a positive self image and represents acceptance of every body, no matter your age, shape, race, style or color. They celebrate diversity and promote strong confident women though our makeovers.
Margaret has trained and certified over 75 Personal Image Stylists. She has taken her art, design and marketing background in corporate America and applied it to Personal Image Styling to developed the DRES System. Her entrepreneur experience includes ten years as the owner and designer of a graphic design agency with world brands such as Nike, Intel and Microsoft; five years as the owner and instructor of an art school; and eleven years operating the DRES System styling agency and working with every woman, from domestic goddess to pilot to physician.
Margaret is inviting the community to participate in a personal campaign she created this year when she decided that she wanted to make a difference. While most of her friends have spent their landmark birthday with expensive parties, big vacations or jewelry, Margaret decided to mark the occasion of her milestone birthday with a tribute to women in her community.
Her birthday had her thinking about the 50 years she has been alive and how now is the time to make an impact. She not only had a desire to become deeply involved in helping women feel valued, but made a commitment to raising money for a local non-profit organization, Washington Women In Need (WWIN).
Founded by Julia Love Pritt, the mission of WWIN is to provide health and education grants to low-income women in Washington to help them improve their lives. Their vision is that every woman will have a clear path in which to achieve her desired potential and enrich her world.
Spencer has been contacting local businesses asking for their support as well as creating a massive high-end clothing swap, DRESSwap, that supported WWIN. Working tirelessly for months, Margaret was determined to raise awareness and deliver a check funded by the collective interest of supporters she has personally contacted.
In addition, Spencer has procured over a dozen raffle items including a Hawaiian vacation with 100% of proceeds benefiting WWIN. With a donation of $20, donors receive 10 chances at receiving a number of highly desirable prizes. Click here to see a full list of prizes.
