Independent Designer Runway Show
Thursday, September 21 at 6 p.m., will be the sixth annual Independent Designer Runway Show, highlighting the premier talent of seven local up-and-coming fashion designers as the culmination of a six month-long mentorship program as they compete for a $5,000 cash prize and a featured segment on Seattle Refined. The winning designer will also have looks from their collection on display at Bellevue Square. Local independent designer, Devon Yan, and 2016 Independent Designer Runway Show grand prize winner, will join this year’s IDRS runway show with his men’s and women’s collections under his brand DEVONATION. Coming from an artistic family in South China, Yan brings his passion for art to his apparel collection, which he launched in 2010. He describes his approach saying, “I use my knowledge of different art forms and dressing culture from around the world to re-create a new culture and style for the public.” 100% of the ticket price benefits the IDRS fashion fund.
