The afternoon featured looks from Joy Sircar McMillen’s KAHINI’s spring design line as well as the debut of the exquisitely beautiful wedding collection. Her Ivory and Blush Collection is the first Bridal collection that Joy designed. “Begin with a dream and turn it into Beauty,” inspired her to create the gorgeous gowns.
Emerging local designers Noune Hovhannisyan, of MXN Clothing and Sunny Kay of Sunny Kay Designs also presented their stunning designs on the runway. During one of the intermissions, Miyoung Seoul Margolis performed a beautiful modern dance.
There was also a charity auction for Dignity for Divas, whose mission is to restore hope and dignity to women experiencing homelessness by reminding them they matter and reconnecting them with their “Inner Diva,” as well as to support and encourage women who are in transition from being homeless as they walk the path toward a self-sustaining life. Nikki Gane, founder of Dignity for Divas, spoke to the audience about her experience with homelessness before strutting down the runway herself. The auction raised $225 for Dignity for Divas.

Nune and Mariam Hovhannisyan are the sister team behind MXN. Both ladies have studied business management and administration as well as design. Nune, who has been active in the fashion scene in Seattle for over 7 years has been recognized as one of the 12 most influential women in Seattle’s fashion industry by the A.DOT Convention 2016. While Nune worked primarily as a custom couturier and focused on event production, a push by her more business-minded partner Mariam, who has spent the majority of her professional career in construction management, has initiated the launch of this ready to wear brand. Launched in 2015, the brand premiere originally in Vancouver Fashion Week. This brand represents exceptional, ethical, and eco-conscious designs created for bold, fashion-forward women passionate about clothes with great fit and ready to change the world.
