Mother’s Day is right around the corner! Instead of taking your mom to the tried and true brunch option again this year, why not try something new? Something different? Something that involves putting on your walking shoes and doing some exploring? And what if this activity was all free?
May I present to you, the Camano Island Studio Tour!
Every year over 40 artists come together for just two weekends in May (including Mother’s Day!) to show off their artwork. The tour includes art displays set up in studios, homes and even outdoor installations. It is about an hour drive north of Seattle (no ferry necessary!) – which means you have ample opportunity to still grab that Mother’s Day brunch on the way! There are plenty of nearby accommodation options should you choose to turn it into a weekend trip (there is enough art to see in 2 days, easy) and the Island’s state park and beach views make for the ideal picnic spot.
This year, the Tour continues to expand with four new artists joining the two-weekend event. These artists include:
Nicki Wight – Watercolors (Cover Artist)
Jeanne Wolfington – Photography *returning artist
Amy Martin – Plein-Air, Oil on canvas
Rick Klauber – Sculptor
Stan O’Neil – Glass art
Susan Rothschild – Mixed Media *returning artist
A full map of the studios is available here.
Make the drive north this Mother’s Day weekend and make the Camano Island Studio Tour a part of your new family tradition, and support your local Pacific Northwest artists!
