East Main Vision Clinic recently held a Winter Frame Show featuring Tom Ford glasses.

My friend, Dani, one of East Main’s optometric technician’s, invited me to the event and gave me a behind-the-scenes tour of the office. As I only see Dani outside of work, it was very cool seeing her interact with patients. She knows her stuff!! Jessie, another optometric technician, helped me pick a gorgeous pair of Tom Ford glasses that everyone loved. As a testament to Jessie’s sense of style, the frames she chose for me were the first pair she picked up. Every other pair I tried on (and believe me, I tried on many), nothing compared to these beautiful blue frames. She really understood what I needed, and it was great to see an optometry practice whose technicians were so in tune with their customers. I heard they learned about managing their practice through a company similar to PECAA (https://www.pecaa.com/2020/06/25/optometric-management/), and it really shows.

I also had the opportunity to interview Optometric Physician, Dr. Joseph Day.
What inspired you to become an optometrist?
My uncle was an eye doctor and he inspired me growing up. In school, I was always interested in math and science. Now, I get to be a doctor and not only take care of patients, but take care of my team. I love coming to work and I want my employees to have the opportunity to grow personally and professionally.

What sets East Main Vision Clinic apart?
I am excited to go to work every single day. Our mission statement is to just have fun. I am probably the only person who would get a speeding ticket for driving to work! My staff and I get here hours before the doors open and the culture here is amazing. I am so proud of my team. We are very real when it comes to serving our patients. We have a family friendly atmosphere paired with the latest in technology so we can be the best for our patients. My team and I help patients choose frames, contacts, seek medical when needed and we receive more referrals that your average office. I also spoke to Puyallup nurses about being a resource in the community. The nurses are able to call us anytime day or night to help triage.

What non-profits and charities do you work with?
I have been on the board for 8 years with the Jamie’s Heart Foundation, who assists families that are battling childhood heart disease. We also work with Step By Step, whose mission is to transform the lives of at-risk pregnant women, so they will deliver a healthy baby, embrace positive parenting, and establish a safe home.
I would highly recommend checking out East Main Vision Clinic for all of your eye care needs. The office in conveniently located near downtown Puyallup (I don’t live in Puyallup, it was my first time there and I found it very easily), the front office staff could not have been more welcoming and friendly, all of the technicians know what your eyes need and Dr. Joseph Day will make you wish you worked in his office too!

Dr. Day and the staff at EMVC are outstanding. Not only do they provide excellent optometrist services but give back to their community in so many ways. Great article for a great group.
Just saying if Dr Joe was closer I would be there. He is my cousin and very proud of his accomplishments. We need to do coffee 🙂
