Runway to Freedom is produced and curated by Lauren Grinnell, who founded the charitable organization in 2010. The yearly fashion show and live auction were created to help build awareness about domestic violence. Their goal is to raise money to aid local charities that provide services to families in violent situations. For the past six years, Runway to Freedom has sold out each show and raised $100,000 for survivors of domestic violence.
The mission of Mary’s Place is to empower homeless women and families to reclaim their lives by providing shelter, nourishment, resources, healing and hope in a safe community. They are one of the leading voices for homeless women and children in emergency situations.
Hosted by JJ McKay, this year’s fashion show will include designs by House of Gina Marie, Justin Zachary Bartle, Julie Danforth and Zulily. The evening will be MC’d by KING 5’s Danielle Leigh and Jairemie Alexander will also add his soulful and soothing voice to the show.
