Recap: Bacon and Beer Classic at Safeco Field

The Bacon and Beer Classic, presented by Cannonball Productions, came to Safeco Field for it’s fifth year and Seattleites were on hand to experience all things pork and libations.

With thousands in attendance for the day and evening sessions, the lines to get into Safeco Field went around the block. All of the food vendors created a dish that included bacon and the possibilities were endless.

This year, we teamed up with Explore Washington State to give you the full #BandBClassic experience!

Just a few of my favorite’s!

Rodeo Donuts maple bacon donuts!!

Ghostfish Brewing poured their legendary gluten-free beer (which tastes amazing for the only-barley-believers).  I also featured their beers not long ago here!

Carver Kitchen roasted up their Bacon’nuts, which I could snack on all day long!

The Boar’s Nest BBQ and Catering had some of the best shredded pork sandwiches this side of the Mississippi.

2 Towns Ciderhouse Pacific Pineapple cider tasted juicy and tropical with ripe Costa Rica golden pineapples and fresh-pressed Northwest apples. It was light and neither too bitter or too sweet.

Pie Lab offered delicious peach bourbon bacon and maple apple bacon pie – which were the perfect desserts to end our evening!

Everyone needs to check out Andrew Bieber’s Cycling Cicerone! What is a cicerone you ask? Andrew is a sommelier of the beer world! A tour guide and beer expert. That’s the kind of resume I want to have. Grab one of his punch cards and visit the six local Seattle breweries by bike (as their motto says, beer is better with a bike). Get two punches at each brewery and redeem your punched card for a prize!  Participating breweries include Belltown Brewing, Figurehead Brewing, Mollusk Brewing, Old Stove Brewing Co. (check out my review of them here), Rooftop Brewing Company and Urban Family Brewing Co.

We had a wonderful time sampling all of the delicious bacon creations and sampling the beers, all with the Seattle Mariner’s baseball field in the back drop to top it off.

Until next year!
